Welcome to the

Australian Railway Historical Society (ACT Division)

Our heritage trains use restored passenger cars from the early 1900s, and when possible are hauled by one of our century-old veteran steam locomotives.

These local trains usually operate from Canberra to Bungendore.
Our overnight or weekend tour trains include air-conditioned sleeping and dining cars, and are hauled by veteran diesel locomotives.

The Australian Railway Historical Society is delighted to announce a special package trip to the Edinburgh Tattoo and Mamma Mia! in the tradition of scores of show trains which we have operated to Melbourne and Sydney, notably to The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Starlight Express - and the like.
