Welcome

1210_qby_tt_ds Welcome to the  Australian Railway Historical Society (ACT Division).

Our heritage trains use restored passenger cars from the early 1900s, and when possible are hauled by one of our century-old veteran steam locomotives.

These local trains usually operate from Canberra to Bungendore.
Our overnight or weekend tour trains include air-conditioned sleeping and dining cars, and are hauled by veteran diesel locomotives.

The list to the right highlights major up-coming train trips. For a full 2009 train program, see Train Trips & Tours.

Dinner-dance party trains allow passengers to celebrate Christmas-in-July or mark the end-of-year. Passengers have reserved seats, are served a hot meal freshly prepared in the on-board kitchen, and can dance either in the train's dance car or at Tarago.
