Steam train excitement returns to the Canberra Region on Easter Saturday 2010 with the Easter Steam Spectacular. 
Steam Train Shuttle Trips from Canberra to Queanbeyan and Return
Enjoy a 45 minute round trip in restored vintage carriages behind classic century old steam locomotive 3016.
Choose from 4 trips-
1st Shuttle- Departs 9:00am, returns at 9:45am
2nd Shuttle- Departs 10:25am, returns at 11:10am
3rd Shuttle- Departs 12:20pm, returns at 1:05pm
4th Shuttle- Departs 1:45pm, returns at 2:30pm

Special Mixed Train Shuttle
Enjoy a unique steam train experience on our late afternoon mixed train. This train will feature historic freight vehicles specially chosen from the Canberra Railway Museum collection to represent the type of rail service Canberra enjoyed in its early years. Passenger accommodation will be provided in the form of our heritage ‘dogbox’ carriage and a vintage steel bodied compartment car that were commonplace on these sorts of trains.

Station Activities
Massed Heritage Display-
Take in the ambience of another age by perusing our heritage rail display at Canberra Station Platform throughout the day.
- Step onboard historic 132 year old steam veteran 1210, specially steamed for the day
- Sit in the drivers seat of a 700 horsepower diesel hydraulic locomotive
- Admire the craftsmanship and ornate fittings of a vintage timber sleeping carriage, formally used on the Sydney-Melbourne Express’s of the 1940s
- Enjoy ‘Tea in the lounge’- Light refreshments served in our turn-of-the-century first class Pullman car.
