Wedding Train
Leaves them misty-eyed
Extract from Canberra Times
Monday 20 November 2000, Canberra
The following text and photo appeared in the Canberra Times on Monday, November 20:
"Train buff, father of the groom and best man, Kerry Mellor, took matters into his own hands on Satruday when he drove the Canberra Railway Historical Society's No 1210 from Kingston station to Bungendore, to ensure the weding party of son Andrew, bride Pamela Drolet and flower girl Emily Mellor White got to the church on time.
The green steam engine that hauled the first train into Canberra in 1914 would have have been sent to the scrapyard if not for weddings and parties.
After 20 years of neglect the train was resurrected in the mid-1980s."

Wait for It!
ARHS and Milk Cartons
By Odille Esmonde-Morgan
Friday, 27 October 2000, Canberra
Some of you may remember at a meeting some time ago, Lindsay Richmond raised the question of advertising on milk cartons and Warwick (Lawson) undertook to find out about it.
Well, talk about the run-around!
But, finally, we have booked our appearence as a non-profit group on the milk carton. And you'll only have to wait until 2002 to see it!
Yes, that's how long the list is - BUT - we are at least now on it.
