ARd First Class Sleeping Cars

ARd first class air-conditioned sleeping cars are units used by the former Commonwealth Railways / Australian National Railways.

ARd 80 and ARd 81 are Wegmann 18 berth (twinette style) sleeping cars built in 1953 and acquired by the Society in 1975.

Both cars are at Canberra Railway Museum, and the Society has plans to restore ARd 80.

The colour photograph of the compartment interior was taken in July 2003; the photograph below is believed to have been taken when car was in service.
