BP Oil Tankers
The BP tankers (BP 7201 and BP 7211) are 4-wheel oil tankers built in 1938 and used for bulk fuel deliveries in NSW.
Both tankers were used to carry petroleum products from Port Kembla to various towns in south-west NSW for more than 15 years before their retirement.
Their final trip was to Wagga Waggo in 1981, when BP 210 conveyed a load of distillate on May 14, returning on May 18. BP 211 was loaded with lighting kerosene on June 19 and returned on June 2.
They were donated to the Society by BP in 1982. One is displayed at Canberra Railway Museum and one is at Yass Railway Museum.
