Passenger Brake Van HG 10834
This type of van was the last of the four wheeled brake (or guard's) vans, with this particular one built in 1908.
HGs were used at Yass until the late 1960s, one of the last places where they were in service.
A number of these vans were also used on work trains in later years, including this example, HG 10834, which was later renumbered L1.
These vans received major alterations during their lifetime, including all the remaining examples.
The van pictured was acquired by the Society in 1983 and can be seen at Yass Railway Museum.Yass Railway Museum Photograph
