Saloon Sitting Car ODL 2262

ODL 2262 was built in 1949, as OBS 2262, a steel air-conditioned first class car with a compartment for a train hostess.

The compartment was also made available for mothers travelling with infants.

The car has 2 + 1 seating, which were converted to day / nighter seating in 1985 (when the car was recoded ODL), providing accommodation for 34 passengers.

The car was in service until withdrawn in 1992. It was acquired by the Society in the following year.

The Society is renovating this car for its return to active passenger service.
