Power Van PHG 12720

PHG 12720 was originally built in 1953 as an MHG brake van for New South Wales freight trains.

It was purchased by the ARHS in 1990 and soon after was converted to accommodate a 75kva power-generating plant for use on trains requiring refrigeration, heating, or power for air-conditioning or the cooking of meals.

It also provides cold room facilities and guard's accommodation.

The second photograph on the right was taken on 12 July 2003 after a re-paint including clear finish.
