This is a selection of letters received from travellers happy with our services:
RailRoad Restaurant trains
- Thank you for allowing us to join you on your dining train to Kandos on 19th October. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the nostalgia it brought with it. A special thank you to Jill and Ray Brown who also helped make our night. It was obvious you all enjoy the trains and we wish you much success. D&PM
- On Saturday, October 19, my husband and I, and two friends, were fortunate to travel on the vintage train from Mudgee to Kandos. We would like to congratulate all concerned for a very enjoyable evening. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived at the steps of our carriage and this continued for the entire journey. The meal was excellent. To the young man who attended us so well, you are a credit to the Society. Congratulations. We hope to see you all again next year. MG
- The four of us enjoyed our trip immensely and would like to thank you all, for your friendliness and professionalism. A big thank you to the chef and waiting staff ... it was exceptional. GT
Valentine's Day dinner trains
- Janice and I enjoyed the Valentine's trip very much. The food was superb. Our compliments to you and others in the kitchen. Regards, Simon.
- We would like to say thank you to all the people who worked so hard last night to make the Valentine's Day trip last night such a resounding success. You all put so much effort into the night - and it was so appreciated. Particular thanks go to Odile and Warwick who looked after us so cheerfully and efficiently. The setting in each compartment was beautiful; the food was fine; and we ladies loved our roses (obviously picked from someone's garden, judging by the perfume). We look forward to attending another dinner train trip in the future. Kind regards, P&PG
Train charters
- Let me say how pleased I was with my charter of your train on 10th June. It was a tremendously enjoyable day made all the more pleasurable by your friendly and co-operative train crew. All the guests subsequently said how impressed they were. I would be pleased if you would pass on my appreciation to those who were involved. Yours sincerely, Steve Gower, Sutton
- I write to thank you on behalf of the Steering Committee of the Federal and Supreme Court Judges' Conference for your part in the Australia Day tour to Bungendore by train. Your volunteers worked extra hard in catering to the needs of the Judges and their partners, and this was very much appreciated. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Yours sincerely, Justice J. F. Gallop, Canberra
Mother's Day trains
- To everyone involved in the coordination and running of the Mothers Day brunch train, I would just like to say thank you very much. My family (including mother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law) and I had a terrific day and found the whole experience exceeded all our expectations. I've earned many brownie points for suggesting it. Congratulations on putting together such a great event. Everyone I dealt with, both leading up to and on the day, were always pleasant and helpful. Many commercial organisations would do well to reach this standard. Sincerely, MR PS:Compliments to the chef!
- We had such a lovely time in the train ... It was lovely; the teams you work with on the train are a lively and funny bunch, great sense of humour, and very polite. So please tell them they all got a huge thumbs-up! VG
Picnic trains
- Thank you for the wonderful day you turned on for us. Our family group was on board the Michelago picnic train, and all voted it to be a superb day out. Our grandson Sam, aged three and a half, is a real steam train fan, and it was a thrill for any grandparent to witness his excitement. The freedom of access to the driver's cabin and the close-up views of the turning the engine at Queanbeyan and Michelago were a thrill for all on board. From here on you have created a group of ambassadors who will recommend the trip as a highly-desirable experience of a lifetime for any family group. Thank you again, DP
Christmas dinner-dance trains
- I write on behalf of my party of 40 who thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas dinner dance train to Tarago last Saturday. It was our fifth such journey and remains a highlight of our social calendar. Your staff were outstanding as usual, with our host Tom a wonderful ambassador for your organisation and railway societies in general. We are already planning trip number 6 for next year. RJ
