Enjoy the aura of a bygone era of train travel, combined with a professionally-prepared three-course meal.
Our restaurant trains run from Canberra to Queanbeyan and then through the Molonglo Gorge and onto Bungendore.
Our Bungedore trains takes a leisurely run, crossing the Queanbeyan River, climbing through the rugged Molonglo Gorge, crossing the Molonglo River and traversing the Pine Range tunnels before cresting the Great Dividing Range at Brooks Bank and then dropping down to Bungendore.
We travel through rolling countryside following the course of the Molonglo River for much of the trip before arriving at historic Bungendore Station, where you can stretch your legs while the engine changes ends for the return journey.
The restaurant train features full waiter service, and an excellent range of reasonably-priced wine, pre-mixed drinks and beers are available on board. BYO is not permitted.
During the course of the journey, your entrée, main course and dessert will be served to your reserved table seats, your choice of dishes being pre-ordered at the time of booking.
The RailRoad Restaurant dinner train departs Canberra Railway Station, Wentworth Avenue, Kingston, at 6.15pm, pausing at Queanbeyan at 6.30pm.
In common with all trains in NSW, smoking is not permitted on board but there are suitable pauses at Queanbeyan (both directions) and at Bungendore.
Your restaurant arrives back in Queanbeyan at about 9.30pm, and Canberra 10pm.Menu choices
